Elad Cohen Memorial Park
On 12 May 2004, Corporal Elad Cohen was one of five IDF soldiers killed when their vehicle was hit by an Islamic Jihad anti-tank rocket. They were en route to blow up weapon-smuggling tunnels along the Israeli-Egyptian border near Rafah. The son of Sarit Saltiel Cohen and Avi Cohen, Elad would have celebrated his 21st birthday in another month.
Sarit and Avi have joined with family and friends to plant a memorial garden to commemorate Elad in the local park where he played as a child. The garden will include a drinking fountain, flower beds and an oak tree.
At the Shealtiel Reunion in Jerusalem, Sarit asked that the family website include an appeal for funds to help bring the memorial to completion. All funds received will be used for the sole purpose of creating the garden. Please send checks only, made out to “One Family Fund”, to:
